There has been a lot of buzz around Blackberry Ltd. (NASDAQ:BBRY) and its jumping into Google Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android smartphone market. When the company’s CEO John Chen discussed the possibility of the company making Android powered phones. He stated that the company will only make Android smartphones if it can make it “secure enough”. After that there was no word from the company, and today it is known that BlackBerry has registered the domain names “androidsecured.com” and “androidsecured.net”.
If you look up the details for androidsecured.com, you will find that the domain names have been registered through the domain registrar MarkMonitor, and that the domain name is actually owned by BlackBerry Ltd. This starts to make us think that BlackBerry has finally been able to make secure Android Smartphones. However, all of this is speculation because there is no official confirmation on the topic from BlackBerry.
